Chanel tweed suit

The iconic Chanel suit was launched in 1923, the Chanel tweed suit was designed for comfort and practicality. A jacket paired with a skirt in supple and light wool or mohair tweed, and a blouse and jacket lining in jersey or silk.

It was good practice back then to stiffen or use shoulder pads, Chanel did not follow the trend but made her own. She cut the jackets on the straight grain, without adding bust darts.

Her design let easy flow with movement as opposed to the others of the time. She designed the neckline to leave the neck comfortably free and added functional pockets.

During that era women were caught up in clothes and outfits that didn’t allow proper flow of movement, especially women’s formal wear. This iconic design became the solution especially to emerging working and modern women.

This suit and the fabric our iconic and are as classy and classic as ever. It is the write outfit to feel fully functional and in control of yourself. As always Chanel did it!
