BG - Joined a design college, to get a design degree

Problems:

• Classes weren’t research oriented
• Feedback was inconclusive
• Outputs > Outcomes
• Learning wasn’t cognitive
• Rote and not exploratory

What matters:

• Learning how to learn
• Picking up skills that matter
• How to sell yourself
• Building a portfolio that speaks
• Being confident
• Explorations + Experiments + Experiences = Learning + Growth + Outcomes

So I dropped out

To learn what matters:

• Internet, Internet and Internet
• YouTube - For learning tools, skills
• Twitter - What and how people do it
• Network - Talk to people in the industry
• Tools - Use it, to learn it (Figma for me)
• Notion - To document learnings

All free ☝️

How I made my first $:

• I didn't have in-depth knowledge in any subject
• I was fascinated by Design Thinking
• Learnt and researched a lot about Design Thinking
• I decided to write about its applications and uses
• Decided to write it as a small handbook
